Is it a contraction if your belly gets hard and stays that way for 30 minutes or more? It's really confusing. It's like that every morning when I wake up, and other times as well! What does it mean? Aren't contractions short?

No that is not an contraction if it lasts that long. I had the same thing going on and the doctor told me it was just the way the baby was. So I wouldn't worry about it. Mention it to your Doc and see what he/she says though since all cases are a little different in people.

It sounds like Braxton but it could be real. Not everyone feels pain. Just keep monitoring them!

It is just Braxton Hicks. They are just getting your body ready for the real thing! These can sometimes be painful. Once your baby is moving you should be fine!

Good luck!

They are Braxton Hicks contractions. They are good to have because it is your uterus practicing for childbirth, exercising, so to speak. You want to have strong muscles during natural childbirth for a healthy, easy labor

I would guess that it's just gas. Just to be on the safe side contact your doc... this used to happen to me and my doc said it was just gas. But ask your's just in case! Just going for a short walk helps alot.
