We helped in Somalia too. Look what that got us. Dead americans. Quite a quandry,if we go help we're interfering, playing world police person, or any other detrimental idea that people can up with. If we don't help we're condemned as well. Calling us racists and any other thing they can come up with. Personally I agree with you. Then again Africa should police itself.

This is not limited to America, no one is doing a damn thing. The UN pretends it doesn't exist or it tries to justify it or pretend it is not a grave situation.
Ok, so I understand France and Germany opposed to Iraq, they had their $$ Billions of contracts with Saddam, I get that. But how about get off your *** and do something in Africa? France? Germany? are you home?
I guess the answer is, if we don't do the job, no one will.
Also, isn't it Pig-headed Ugly Americanism to even think that the US has to be the answer to all the world's problems? at least that's what everyone keeps telling us........so for once, we are not the world's "know it all" and we still get chit on by finger waggers.

If you believe the US ever does anything in other people's interests, you're kidding yourself. The only country the US helps is when it helps itself by stealing what others have.
Human rights? No. The US went in to tear up the French and Russian oil contracts and get them for US oil companies. The US never shows up unless they can profit from it.
Domino theory of communism? No. The US just didn't like having its own imperialism challenged.
Spreading democracy? No. If the US really wanted to create democracy, then why have they overthrown (or tried to overthrow) democracies in Iran (1953), Argentina, Chile, Nicaragua, Greece and several other countries?

Do you really expect the US to go into Darfur, they did jack all when it came to Rwanda, so why should this genocide be any different. The US would have to find a self serving reason to go in.

Its terrible, but if given the choice I would do more for New Orleans. America needs to start taking care of our own business.
