The sun is using up it's supply of Hydrogen and is expanding. It will engulf the Earth in about 100 million years. It will be EXTREMELY hot for millions of years before that as the surface of the sun gets ever closer, so there won't be much life left on the surface by then. As the sun swallows the world, the earth will burn into atoms and disappear forever.

As for human life? Barring accidents, wars and being hit by something giant from space, maybe a few more million years?

Probably not for billions of years! We should be more worried about when the human race ends, as that is likely to end before the world! I think civilisation will come to an and shortly (within 50 years!) But this will probably be a good thing! Long live anarchy

Brian is right here,the world ends on 21st of December 2012,he does'nt mention how tho!
The date is in line with ancient calendars(Mayan I believe),and it envolves the Earth entering the dark region of the milky way for the first time.
My personal belief is that the Earth shall be hit by a large meteorite causing a major flood,which in the distant past has wiped out other civilisations living here before our civilisation.
There is a possibility that they were a race of giants who taught Humanity their intelligence and built the Pyramids and Stonehenge etc etc.In the bible they are known as the Sons of God,who bred with the Daughters of Men.
Intelligence did'nt evolve,I believe modern man is a hybrid,with what tho,I do not know at present .

this is a very good question actually.but it's answer is as difficult.but if i have to answer it i would say that this world will come to an end if the little remaining positiveness get vanish.when people stop believing on god.and i think the of this world is coming nearer because the increasing crime rates tells us that human beings are converting into devils.and one more important thing if i get removed from this world will definitely end.just joking!

Depends What you mean by World? if you mean the death of every living organism on the planet, then probably when the Sun runs out of energy, I dont even think its reached its half life yet, so I would say a good few Billion Years yet.

Nostradamus says that the world will end in 2020 when a huge asteroid will hit us.
