it's the bright colours, the brilliant amusing characterisations, the fact that life deals out bitter blows but everything turns out right in the end.
It's the stupidity of the father figure mixed with his enduring love for his wife and his unfailing desire to provide for his family.
It's the way Marge is such a great mother to their kids and such a good wife and the way her intelligence shines out and overcomes the stupidity of some of Homer's actions.
yet the kids are not all goody-two shoes, Lisa is the well behaved well brought up daughter so concerned that everybody should do the right thing. She is balanced by the naughty but lovable Bart and the anxious Maggie to whom life's problems always have the same simple solution.
It is such a wow of a programme, eternally optimistic despite everything.

Because there light hearted, funny and you don't have to think through it.
I think there's a little Homer or Marge in all of us. :)

it's the sense of humour...i find it quite funny, but haven't watched it in a while ...i also like futurama...the robot, i think he is top laughs
