I hope someone will tell me a way to allow me to write without causing any strain or blisters on my hand. I have been holding a pen the wrong way for 10+ years and it has been causing a blister on my 4th finger that has never gone off before. I have been trying to change but I am afraid it is still wrong and will instead cause a blister on my 3rd finger! Please help! Thanks! :D

i have/had the same problem. the funny looking bump on my forth finger has never actu. gone away however now that in not in school no more and i don't write all day long its not swollen and is not red. it use to be painful but now when i right i have learn its the amount of pressure your applying to the pen ( when your writing) that causes the blister any way you hold it you will feel strain and its not that easy to change how you hold it. they sell these pencil/pen cushions at the stores those are okay, try working on not straining or holding the pen more loosely

I'm in my 40's and still have that little bump from holding my pencil/pen and writing.
I purchased "The Pencil Grip"for my son and it has helped him with his pencil posture a bit. Mostly it has helped him because it is an ergonomic little piece of rubber which cushions his contact with the writing instrument.
It is available at school supply stores.
The web address is go there and you can get a look at it, just click on the pencil grip icon.
My 13 year old loves it, he say's it keeps his fingers from hurting and I think it helps keep his hand from cramping.
Wish you the best!
Oh yeah, they also give you drawings to show you how to hold a pencil properly.

Have your third finger resting its pad on the pen a little on the left Have the pointing finger resting its right edge pad on the pen (if you are right handed). And have your thumb resting its right corner edge pad on the pen. Your pointing finger should be above the thumb about 2cm and your third finger should be closest to the tip of the pen ahead of the thumb by about 2 cm.
