Are you talking about a bidet?

Your question really isn't clear - but in Japan people DO use toilets of course!!

I suspect that you're talking about the high-tech toilets. But they're still toilets!!! Just because have they various buttons for bidet, shower, squirt, etc., doesn't alter the fact that they are a TOILET, with a flush handle! Even the heated seats don't change THAT!
; )

Apart from the high-tech loos, there are normal western toilets, hole in the floor style Japanese toilets, or men's urinals.

I'll just look for some pics ...
One of the high tech models;

Ah yes - I forgot that they also have THIS style of urinal in Japan, and they also have small ones in the lady's loos so little boys don't have to take up a whole cubicle when they visit the loo with their mum;

This is a Japanese style toilet;

they DO have flushes though...! Don't panic...!!!

In some older places and some public places there are squat toilets. Sometimes there could be 3 western style toilets and one old squatter toilet.

Sit on one, do a wee and you will find out.
3 main toilets in Japan.
The "normal" toilet
the "squatter" toilet (really handy but so sick to see your poo just sitting there)
and the toilets quite predominant in Hokkaido, "heated toilets" the nice warm ones but the buttons, squirt, shower, (depending on the cost, blows hot air and dry etc).
Most toilets have a basin on top, to save room, and to save water.

They are the Japanese style toilets. For use only if you are very flexible.

Japan has toilets. They even have "heated" toilets. There aren't any other devices that I've seen.

Are you talking about something like a washbasin in Japan for toilet? And something which is used as toilet for babies, elderlies and pets?

If so, we call it "omaru". Sometimes, it is designed like an animal to make your kids fun.

Japan does have western style toilets, but are you referring to the squat toilets? I call it a squatter.......as in "Damn, no regular toilet, guess I have to use the squatter"

(^-^)

i like to call it "a hole in the floor". quite possibly the most inconvenient piece of hardware on the planet. don't wear good pants if you plan on having to use one.
