My son was 8lbs 10.9 oz when he was born, my cousin's son was 9lbs 2 oz when he was born, I was 9 lbs when I was born (I could name more but you get the idea) and all through vaginal deliveries. Don't listen to anyone who says you will HAVE to have a c-section. Also none of us had gestational diabetes (though your physician would probably be checking for signs of this anyway).
Are you sure you will go in a week? I was a week overdue and they were going to induce me but I went into labor 2 days before the induction appointment.
Bigger babies look sooooo cute! My son had the biggest cheeks ever! Good luck and congratulations on such a wonderful sized baby!

I was told by mine that I would have a 7lb baby and he wound up being 8lbs 7oz. Had I not been induced he would have been larger. I also had a cyst that the ultrasound tech said was 6cm by 4cm (I had 5 ultrasounds and they all said the same thing) and it wound up being 10cmx8cmx6cm. It's simply not an exact science.

I wouldn't trust that estimation, they can not usually accurately estimate the weight of your baby. I was told 1 week before my 3rd was born that she was about 2.7kg, 1 week later she was born at 3.5! I have heard from medical professionals and other sources that it is hard to accurately predict weight of an unborn child.

less than a half pound, that is a wonderful weight, nice and healthy, good job Mommy! If baby IS in fact over 8 lbs, make sure they check you for gestational diabetes.

they could be wrong. they told my friend her baby was 8lbs 5oz and he turned out to be 10lb 3oz. Personally i don't think their weight estimation is very accurate at all.
