Nice avatar of Hailee Selassie...i would only use it if i need to... other wise to buy some thing for the sake of buying don't make sense, but i know you would like an answer as to what i would buy with the £5 but my answer would be the same sorry.

Usually bread, milk, cat food or anything essential that I need for that day. Otherwise lunch or a paper.
Basically it'll get used up buying lots of boring bits of things.........

I would probably keep the British money as a souvenir since most places in Anchorage would not accept your pound notes as legal tender.
