appeal hearing...i work sacked from work for gving out a something free (i used to work at McDonalds i gave out a free burger) and have appealed because someone commited this 3 times before he was sacked...anyone go any ideas of what to say in my appeal...

add on - the person who committed this 3 times got caught them 3 times, and only got warnings.

say you didn't give it for free. Just tell them you forgot to charge them...

Was that the only thing that you did? Usually you should be given a verbal warning, a written warning and then sacked unless you've done something so grievous ... but giving out a free burger doesn't seem to fit that bill!

Did you get a written warning, if not then you might (might!) have a case.
Its probably just best to walk, its not as though theyll ever take you back with good grace, and the job isnt up to much. So cut your losses and move on, many better jobs out there.

This is classed as Gross Misconduct from any employer. Unfortuantly you got caught. If you have a union in your place of work i say you contact them and join if your not in it already and get them to fight the case for you. The other person who did this obviously didnt get caught in time.

That fact wont help you say it was a act of good faith and customer service as the person had been in earlyer that day and recived a cold burger then they where coming back to complain
