I have heard of turmeric being used on wounds. It is used in Indian Ayurvedic Medicine and also Chinese medicine for wound healing, amongst many other things. But it would be messy and stain clothing. It is great to take internally, as used in cooking or as a supplement.

Well!!! I have jsut read some of this Wikipedia History of saffron and apparently Alexander the great added it to his bathwater to aid wound healing:

So yes go ahead and use saffron if it is a wound. You may get some staining though so you need to cover well. You learn something new every day so thanks for that.

lol.. im not sure what saffron can do to your injury.. all i know is that saffron is a good brain food (accding to some studies).

i prefer band-aid :) but iodine and gauze should do the trick!
