Seriously, what to make of these comments? If he is serious, then what? Maybe he just wants some Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey?

Yes, silly me.....I stand corrected. Ahmadinejad has only expressed a desire to DESTROY AMERICA, no predictions. Death to America! Death to America! is how it goes over there in Iran........ I think?

Good story Mordent, however, the people of the USSR were not rotten to the core, their desire was to live in freedom. our current enemy's sole motivation is to destroy all infidels. That includes you.

Yes he would like to destroy the US and he really wants to destroy Israel. However, he will not do anything right now because we have a man as president. Ahmadinejad is not stupid he knows if he did anything at the present time that the next country we would take care of would be Iran. He is waiting and hoping we get a democrat the next time we elect a president. He knows that they think they can just talk a problem away. I would say that shortly after inauguration day that Iran would do something and without fear of retaliation from the US.

He might not be serious - but he certainly isn't joking. He may certainly wish they were, but even if he did possess the technology required to do so it would be suicide to use it.

*Edit* Yes, but not everyone in Iran IS an (I hesitate to use such an obvious propaganda term) 'islamofascist'. Let me tell you a little story. One day in the Soviet Union there was a Soviet General who received word that US missiles were heading towards them. The standard procedure was to launch all missiles immediately. However, he didn't believe that the US would actually be that stupid - and believed the equipment was at fault. This was an incredibly difficult decision for him to make - if he was wrong then the deaths of millions of people would be on his head, the USSR would be incapacitated, and the hated west would win the cold war. If he was right, but launched the missiles anyway, then the US would see his missile strike and launch their missles in retaliation. 0 came and nothing happened. He was right, there was a fault, and he saved the world from nuclear holocaust.

Just because the leaders espouse rhetoric and wishful thinking, it does not mean the people believe the same thing - and it does not believe the people are willing to die for ideas like "death to the west", a philosophy mirrored exactly in the USSR.

By contrast, Israel has openly threatened to attack Iran, and is preparing to do so, but most Americans prefer to think of Iran as a danger over something that was never said, rather than admit to the real danger from Israel.

Whether he wants "ice cream" or not..well, don't know, but on a serious note, I think that we both need to assess the situation as "desperate". And any indication of anything less would be devastating to the US. We need to take everything more seriously than we ever have before.

Little nut job forget we have nukes!! Little nut job forgets we have a "warmonger" president! Little nut job should remember the president went against the UN and went into Iraq. Little nut job, Mahmoud, should know we have the capablities to whip him off the map and with a "warmonger" we just might.
