Can someone please tell me what the average private party sale is for a 1978 Yamaha SR 500?

You can look in motorcycle blue books at most dealers. Those bikes are hard to find but not particularly valuable...
If I remember right, they only had kickstart? Kind of a bear to start sometimes... good luck.

Not a real popular bike, but has a stong "cult" following. Put your ad on-line and in a motorcycle trade publication for the best price. Don't bother with local newspaper. Good luck.

This motor is in demand with the flat track racing crowd.
It will bring about $250 bucks if it will turn over.
The rest of the bike makes a pleasant potting stand, bird feeder and very good boat anchor.
