If you're talking the general area, Bellevue is the best.

The only public school district in Seattle is the Seattle School District. Within the district, I would say that Garfield and Roosevelt High Schools are both quite good. There are also a number of private schools.

In the suburbs, Bellevue is the best district. Newsweek recently published its list of America's 100 best high schools (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7723397/site/newsweek/), and three of them were in the Bellevue School District. I'm not sure why the International School (the best, IMHO) in the BSD was not included; maybe it's too small.

Northshore, Mercer Island, and Lake Washington School Districts are also quite good.

Housing is expensive in the Seattle area, and these areas are all pretty costly.

Northshore is probably the best - Lake Washington is good too. Neither are in affordable areas though.

O'Dea and Bellevue seem to be very good.
