When my 6 1/2 mo old sleeps, she seems to move around quite a bit. I have a video monitor to check on her and notcie that she wiggels around so much that she ends up into the corner. A few times the bumper pad came loose and her head was behind. Do I take it off and chance her hurting herself on the bars? Im afraid to pin it for fear of her pulling it loose and sticking herself with the pins. I keep close eye on the monitor becasue it worries me and I cant get any sleep while watching her. What can I do?

Uh I know not to put pins in it, I know to put her on her back. She pushes herself around with her feet. Im not a 1st time mom. My son never did this. Shes rolling over too, so I know all of the things you mentioned. Just when I go to get her, shes pushed herself so far into the corner, surely its not comfortable! There ARE ties on the bumper, I tuck it in tightly around the matress like its suposed to be but she still manages to pull it loose.

First of all..please never put pillows in the cot, the baby can suffocate.

My baby does the same thing and I just leave her and she is fine.

What I do is roll up blankets and place them between the mattress and the bars. This acts as an excellent bumper, is not too soft and keeps her limbs inside the cot.

I used to lose sleep as I would constantly get up to check on her but now I know she is fine..so get some rest!

All the best

I had ties on the bumper spaced 10cm apart and tied them to the bars around the crib. They dont come loose easliy, and will prevent the child from bumping its self. Your baby will find its comfortable way of sleeping without your help.
Are you a first time mum? Dont stress, you will instinctivley know when there is something wrong.

Your daughter should be placed on her back to sleep. When mine was that old I would play with her quite a bit, and with a fair amount of exercise she was too tired to move all over the place she just went to sleep. Never put pins in the crib, it's very dangerous!!!
Try wearing her out, give her a nice warm bath with one of the baby products containing chamomile or lavender.
NEVER put pillows inside a crib! A child can smother at that age!

Try swaddleing your baby. Preferably in a blanket that stretchs a bit. Do this for a week and see if she takes.

Also it's not that bad if she's in the cornor huddled up. It's what's confortable for her. Just make sure she doesn't start sleeping on her stomach unsupervised. I would also look into getting that bumber panel fixed sounds like the real issue.
Mothers back me up.

Just take the bumper out. Is it necessary to risk suffocation to prevent bar marks on her head? If she was really uncomfy against the bare bars, she would move.

You must be a first-time parent. You're obsessing way too much. The only thing that worries me, is you mention pins around her crib. There should be no pins, or other sharp objects on or around the crib. Then she can sleep the way she likes.
