Download.com is a CNET site - CNET and download.com are of the worlds most reliable sorces' for file downloads and computer information.
they do extencive tests on there files, i have been downloading files from Download.com for years, on verious different OS's and have never had a problem :)

Try torrents for downloading software like MAYA animation or anything else. Use kickasstorrents
