Get ad-aware from either their website or from download.com, this cleans up all tracking cookies and spyware associated with pop-ups. Thats it cleaned up, now you need to stop them. Have you downloaded the new internet explorer 7?? It has a good pop-up blocker, or use the very popular safe fast convenient and cool Mozilla Firefox, its excellent at stopping pop-ups and is easier to use than internet explorer. download the Mozilla Firefox web browser, i totally recommend it...
google it and read up about it if you like, it's a much safer browser for your computer to run

I agree with Nasar... download Mozilla.
It's terrific. I wasn't too sure when hubby first downloaded it for me. Was so different.
BUT! It automatically blocks those horrendous pop-ups and the skins you can get for it are fantastic.
