Technically, yes. However, it is better to say "the apartment that I share with Fred."

No. Fred's means Fred is. Freds' may be appropriate because it shows possession. No, the way Yahoo suggestions states is that it is Fred's. Come to think of it yea, that could be right. Does it not seem that the apostrophes means Fred is?

Yes it is. The easiest way to tell if a possessive sentence is grammatically correct is to remove the first noun to see if the sentence is still proper. Remove "Fred's" and you have "My apartment" which is still proper English.
