ok friend. this is praveen from m.v.g.r coll of engg. and i'm glad to answqer ur question.

* eventhough the power supply to the computer is supplied by SMPS (switching mode power supply) the power has to be passed through the MOTHER BOARD . so there are 3 chances for occurrence of ur problem .

1.) firstly the problem may lie on the power button of ur cabinet. try to remove ur cabinet door and slightly test the switch button of the power supply . be sure the POWER supply is OFF.

2). secondly the problem may lie on ur SMPS. and dont remove the screws of smps. simply take it to ur nearest hardware shop.

3). thirdly the problem may lie in ur mother board .

and finally before following the above steps
open ur cabinet and remove the big power supply slot which is near the RAM slot and again insert it.

hope the above solutions solve ur problem.
bye
yours praveen

Could be that your system didnt shutdown properly. Try holding the on button down for about 10 seconds and that will finish the shutdown (if thats the problem). Then try starting your pc up again as normal.
