My daughter is inthe 7th grade and has to do a timeline on Robert Cromier. Their reading the book I Am Cheese. Can anyone tell me if a timeline has to be straight? Can it be in a circle? Is there a political correctness to making a timeline?

a timeline's a graphical representation of events. since time flows in one direction only, it makes sense to present events on a straight line.
You could have multiple lines for parallel events.
i've never heard of a circular timeline before,

It would be simplest if you could arrange all the events in a straight line.

The only other way I could see it is to have parallel timelines, but that might not work that well in I Am The Cheese.
