Check out Bob's article (link #1 below). Then focus on best places to work ... you'll be happier anyhow (see links #2 and #3 below). But in reality, any company that treats you like a person and pays you on time (assuming you return the favor) is a good company to work for as long as you are doing work you can be proud of. To paraphrase a popular Hollywood slogan, there are no small jobs, only small workers. In other words, always be polite and do the best that you can.

all retail companies are only out for the bottom line. even if it means loosing good help and competent employees. also i believe it is one of the most underpaid jobs out there.
so all you people who don't work retail and expect so much from retail employees, just remember that its the corporations fault that they're are not enough underpaid employees to help customers or not enough registers open.
if you're going to ***** at someone for hell sakes make it someone who can actually institute change. take the damn time to find the corporate website and let them know! this is for your sakes as well as the underpaid and under-appreciated employees.
i myself bust my butt at a international office supply company and telling me that we need more help isn't going to change a damn thing. take time and target the ceo's, stockholders, and corporate boards. THEN maybe then next time you are in you'll get the service you deserve!

Judging by the message left on my answerphone the other day telling me that my laptop had been mended, Hi Grade are the worst. The poor bloke sounded like he was;
a) dozing off
b) already asleep
c) manically depressed
d) trying to do too many things at once.
I felt really sorry for him.

Walmart has to make the list. Should maybe include the fast food joints and nursing homes in general.
