someone i have to work with alone everyday is very well known for being a cow. i find her impossible, she is ignorant and obnoxious. Yet in power over me. I leave work next week, but must impress her before then in order to meet a target. can anyone offer any advice?

My mom used to tell me when I was having trouble with friends who were this way to "Kill em' with kindness". In other words, don't stoop to her level. Don't let your guard down, and always take up for yourself. When she is ignorant or obnoxious...Look the other way like your not paying attention. Only answer her questions and don't for the life of you, ask her personal questions or give her any reason to be rude to you. Just wait until the time when she won't be around anymore, that will give you the initiative to carry on.

What exactly do you mean that you leave work next wekk? Is it for vacation, a new job, explain. If it is not for a new job I suggest you pray beginning now, and be looking for a new job. Now prayer will either move her out or you will get another job. I would also talk to her in private to discuss the matter. I would begin by saying you don't think she does so intentionally (even if you think she does), but the other day when you said or did such and such to me it offended me. Document this conversation you have with her, and any other incidences that occur. Now she will either apologize and change or maybe not. Then you will have to go above her head. I had a similar situation happen to me, but I never documented or confronted the person about it. But I did pray about the matter as well as my co-worker because she too was not happy about how this person was acting. We remain and she is gone.

Hey-- be the grown up here---don't do anything--it will probably be nasty, childish and immature...and hurtful. Why would you resort to such a low thing??? Surely you must be a better person than that. Be nice and move on---be cool

Avoid her in every way possible and also give her a chance. Just because people gossip about her being a cow doesn't mean that she is. Have you given her a chance. If so, just move on.

if she is cruel to you, then it must be cos she fancies you... perhaps you should try flirting with her... :D
