Who has recorded the most material ever?

My guess is that Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald would be part of this discussion. They would certainly be very high on the list in terms of music in the English language.

I ask 'what singer is the most prolific' because there would be many instrumentalists in the world of jazz and classical who have appeared on hundreds of recordings. But it would be interesting to know facts about their recording careers as well.

Of course, the information being sought here is not about quality of material, or about most critical acclaim - just overall volume of work.
