Amp'd is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator. They don't own their own equipment, but rather repackages service from an existing carrier.

In Amp'd's case, they resell services over Verizon Wireless' EVDO network. But while Amp'd users are connecting over VZW's network, Amp'd users are not the same as VZW users when it comes to services. For example, as a VZW user, I cannot consider an Amp'd user as IN-network.
