I live in NY (No not Astoria lol) and I went to Greek School after church. I know some college campuses also offer Modern and Classic Greek language courses. If all else fails, get the Rosetta Stone CD's and take a trip to Astoria. You will pick up the culture, food, etc. very quickly!

Check if there is a Greek church in your neighborhood. Usually they have a Greek school attached (Saturday or Sunday), if you don't mind learning with little kids... Other source the local college, most of them have Greek classes. Hang out with Greeks, it helps too.
As for the food, there are many books for Greek cooking, you can check on the internet (search greek cuisine) or, if you need something specific, ask me!
P.S. I'm in the USA too, but I lived half my life there.. :D

The best advice here is the one that suggests the local Greek church. If you do not have one check with the closest one to you. Most large cities have one. Some churches also offer courses for adults, and if they do not, they can possibly direct you to an adult learning center which has Greek.
It is also possible to get a class going with the adult Education of your local school board assuming there are enough people interested and they can find an instructor.
Finally, use the net. That's what it's for so...GOOGLE it.

I attended Greek School! and I got a 94 on the regents out of 100. I think you should check out Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle, NY. Its great!

Its easy. Just go to the Greek orthodox church during service hours and ask them when they have classes. Classes are usually held at church or during evening hours at a local school.

Its an honor someone that isnt greek wants to learn our language and our culture. Thank you.

You can either check with the Greek Embasy or a consulate (there are several all over USA, check the site attached)
If there is a Greek ortodox church near you check with them also, they tend to run schools.
There are also several Universities that have Greek languale courses.

Good Luck!

my daughter is married to a Greek and she has become so fluent that she is teaching Greek classes after their church on Sunday afternoons....too bad you aren't in Iowa....lol
Just find a Greek Church where you live and visit there, maybe also they will have school and help with cooking.. ...

After note: I have been trying to learn Greek 7 years! lol....but they love me for trying it anyway, even with my southern accent..I at least know the good words and one bad one...xaxaxa Seriously, just try and they will help you
