Although I am somewhat confused by your mostly incoherent question, I can answer the first part of it. Carpenters, or joiners, learn not only their own trade (my hubby studied for 4 years at college acheiving Advanced Craft and is a member of the Institute of Carpenters) but whilst out working, they learn all about plumbing, figure out all the stuff that electricians know, and several other building related trades too. You ask a time served carpenter how to do something around the house and I guarantee even if it is a different field of work, he or she will know just what to do!
