Why or why not? I see that they have had good growth this week since their new earnings.

I think it's very ok. Although they got a good gap up due to earnings, they have been flat for quite a while vs. many in their sector. Goog clearly leads the sector and Bidu has done well too.

So, it depends on your timeframe and how aggressive you want to be vs. your other options. Out of over 14,000 stocks in the US exchanges, Ebay is clearly in the pack. Personally, I'd find stronger stocks like GS, HD, AGE, or WYNN to invest in.

Good luck!

No, i don't think it is a good stock to invest in. They are going to have a lot of competition from Google in terms of their payment process and I believe that the stock really isn't going places. Be wary of another mini-technology bust in the market soon and that would really put a hurting on a company like eBay.

Recent announcements notwithstanding, they have been in a solid downtrend for three months. The spike up in the last few days was followed by almost a 30% retracement, so I would not just run out and jump into it.
