It's better to make your family ready first. Make them accept him. Will you be married to this boy? no one knows that. All you can do now is try to make your family see why you love him, and make them love him too.

sure everythoing can be achieved if you put your mind to it but be ready for the consequences if you force it!
your problems needs to be solved first, at least at family level to avoid future relationship problems.
you've 2 choices . . . go ahead and do whatever you like and face the family relationship and realtives problems from both sides!
or
solve a problem thats age old and not easily achieved and hope for the best?
dont thnk your problem is rare . . . ask for help and opnions.

You have to convince your family to accept him before you talk about marriage. This sort of things need to be sorted out step by step
