Your question is very specific! Frankly, I have not seen any of these movies that you have referred. But as you have said…mysterious and philosophical is the type of the movies that you are looking for; here are few tittles recommended by my expert self…
The Abyss (1989) - Directed by James Cameron. One of his best work and indeed was a spiritual one. You don’t wanna miss this.
Flatliners (1990) Directed by - Joel Schumacher. He has directed many movies of your type.
Aftermath: A Test of Love (1991) (TV). Philosophical, yes, mysterious, no.
Well, this could go on forever. It is greatly dependent on your definition of philosophical as the same varies from person to person. For example, my all time favorite movie is JEEPERS CREEPERS – II which was a horror movie and had nothing to do with what you are looking for, but still, if it were me, I would call that movie both, mysterious and philosophical and spiritual.
