She said, "You've gone all red" when she wanted to ask me something. I hate that. So what if I go red? I can't help it. She said this to me in front of 3 other of my colleagues. I'm a shy person, but why do they have to tell you you've gone red? My boss is lucky. She’s a black lady!

people like that enjoy feeling superior to others, and therefore point out all your supposed 'imperfections', in the hope that it's going to make them look better than u. it's just one step away from bullying in my opinion. i bet she was either a bully herself as a kid, or she was bullied, and this is the affect that it's had on her. next time she points something out like that, just smile sweetly, look her in the eyes, and just make a general remark like 'sometimes i do blush, it's just one of those things'. if she thinks that her remarks don't bother u, it will take away some of the fun that she gets out of trying to belittle people. i know u are shy, i am too, and i was bullied as a child, but i found that however difficult it is to stand up to idiots like this, it's even more difficult to just let it keep on happening. hold your head up high - and take comfort in the knowledge that u are a nicer, more secure person than this daft woman. (and if that fails, u could always spit in her coffee !!! lol - i did that once after the managing director of the company once had a go at my for not putting his cup of coffee down on his desk, with the cup handle pointing towards him !!! i know - it's gross and childish, but he was an arrogant, bullying prick) good luck !

I can sympathise with on this one. I have always been very self conscious (due to bullies when I was younger) and I still go red when I'm in company and the spotlight centres on me. Your boss is a very unfeeling person to state the obvious like that. It happens quite a lot and the more people stare, the redder you go. The only hope I can offer you is that there is a procedure(surgical) that can "disable" this reaction. If it worries you that much, see your GP about it and ask to be referred about this problem. Finally all those people out there who notice us shy people going red.... DON'T STATE THE OBVIOUS AND JUST IGNORE IT, PLEASE.

She's being the Alpha woman. It pleases her to embarrass you. that is interior of you to conquer this. i'm assuming that's befell in many cases. do not provide her the delight, and merely enable it roll over you. Thicken you pores and skin. She merely would of suffered an same component from yet another and feels the want to inflict it on someone. each and every thing we do to others begets yet another act. Anger begets anger. Kindness begets kindness. Be the latter.

I know what you mean, it happens to me alot too, it always has!

The worse person for me is my mum, she thinks it's hilarious! If I go red when I'm with her, she'll say "you've gone all red", which then makes me blush even harder, and that will carry on till I'm nearly purple!!

The people who comment on it are usually the people who it doesn't happen to so don't realise what it's like!
