I just had a bad fall skateboarding and managed to get huge abrasions all over my arms and body. it hurts like a ***** trying to do anything so i was wondering what would make it heal faster? to cover it or not?

any other advice on what types of food i should avoid or eat more of to speed up the healing process?

Thank You

Sorry to hear about your accident. OK, I know it hurts but you must clean the abrasions with a dilute antisceptic. Alternatively, you can soak in a bath with a capful of dettol, but it will probably sting at first. If you don't have disinfectant, then I would soak in a lukewarm bath anyway (no soap).
If you donot cover the abrasions you will need to keep dabbing iodine on them, at least 3 times a day, and you run the risk of infection, or your clothes sticking to the sores. Also, you are more likely to scar.
I would go to the chemist, buy some gauze and light cotton bandages, and antisceptic gel to put on the gauze. If you are able to do this, it would be best.
Vitamin B and C are best to promote healing.
Goodluck!

Ouch. If any of the scrapes look kind of deep, I'd cover them. The superficial ones should scab over in a day or so, and as long as you don't pick, they'll heal pretty quickly.

Stay hydrated, and be sure to get enough calcium, your blood will use some calcium clotting, and you'll be best to replace it. And get some rest. You heal better if you're not rushing around too much.
