the name. hurricane, cyclone, and typhoon are all the same, but named differently, depending what part of the world. in the western pacific(not including hawaii), it is known as typhoon. in the atlantic coast and eastern pacific, we call it hurricane, and in the indian and south pacific, they call it cyclone.
