im definitely considering breast implants, and ive seen on Dr. 90210 theyve reduced the size of nipples/ areola. Now my nipples are about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and would like them to be smaller, has anyone had this done? or know anything about it? possible risks? and price???

I hope that you will decide not to do the breast implants for a few different reasons:

1) COST. You can probably find somebody to do it for $1500 (be very leery at this low price) and it can go upwards of $3,000. Most insurance companies will not cover this type of surgery for cosmetic purposes.

2) RISK. Surgery is surgery and anything can go wrong. Even though this is a common procedure, there are a lot of horror stories out there about botched breast augmentation surgeries.

3. RECOVERY. The recovery period for this surgery can last 3 - 4 weeks and it is frequently a very painful recovery.

4) DURATION. Breast implants do not come with a lifetime guarantee. Chances are that you will eventually need to remove or replace them. This will not be free. Will you be in a physical or financial situation to replace them if they need to be replaced?

5) EROTIC FACTOR. Even though the perception is that most men prefer larger breasts, men are happy with almost all breasts. You will find a lot of men, though, who dislike fake breasts. Natural breasts are much more pleasing to a man.

I wish you health and happiness and I hope that you decide against the implants.

All the best to you!

There are several different methods used in cosmetic surgery, depending on the circumstances, and the dr and the patient consult to discuss, and decide which method to use. One of the methods is to make an incision around the nipple area. The surgeries I've seen on tv, using this method, appear to have the entire nipple removed, and then stitched back, once the procedure is complete. I seriously doubt the nipple would be stored on ice. More likely the nipple would be placed in some sort of fluid, which would help keep the skin alive, and everything sterile. I'm not expert, just my own observation.

I thought they only reduce the size of the areola on breast reductions. I'd assume with implants they would not reduce or enlarge it, you just get bigger breasts.

You could always talk with the plastic surgeon about your areola size.
