I'm not asking about specific fobia since I know that fobia is developed from childhood experience rather than fearing for all horrid circumstances or being dead.

I think bravery is a cultivated behavior. Every one has the survival instinct and will strive hard to avoid death. But, it is expected of us, as a member of the society to fight for the survival of the society. All the so called brave men are just those who are trained to suppress their fear of death and egged on to fight, on some noble cause which is indoctrinated into them. In the army, men are made to fight with a sense of pride and valor which is inculcated into them. We will die, when our time is out.
