yes..being too nice does exist...but considered bad no...it is really the act of taking advantage of the nice person or gestures that is bad...we associate the too nice thing as a bad thing so that we might avoid doing it...but its not bad..you just gotta make sure if your too nice that you know to watch for those who will take advantage of you and dont forget to take care of yourself as well...

Some people just appear to be different from the average person and seem fake or odd.I think many of us grow up with trust issues or certain personality types around us. Some religious people and sales people are like this also.My second Ex-wife was usually nice to people until they disagreed with her about something.The half full glass suddenly became half empty. Interesting question. Too bad I don't have any background in psychology.Just my opinions. Would this be a form of overcompensating?

Being nice is a virtue, where it is necessary,say , among the ladies and the gentle and the stranger. While in war, it is not a virtue. Churchill, while in discussion with the generals, during the World War, rebuked a general, who said 'sorry' for certain incorrect thing that he uttered, "in war, it is more important to be correct than to be nice".

yes; b/c it is annoying or 'forces' others to do stuff for the too-nice person (or risk looking mean)
