When you find your baby staring at you. Just staring. (mothers know what I mean). That is the moment in time, when your baby starts realizing that you and he...are two different people.

That's the moment...he is an individual.

Technically? I'd say about the age of 2 yrs-they become toddlers. There will baby type moments even then at times, but they become more and more independent as they grow up to adult years! My son who is 12 will always be my "baby"-but I have seen him go thru those fun first few years-they go by quickly! Take care.

I belive a baby stops being a baby when you nolonger feel like its baby sitting. Its when your mother in you comes out to start parenting. When they have to start listening to you. for example i had to stop my daughter from picking up and touching breakable things at my mums. thats when i realised she was nolonger my baby but a lil girl.

mine oldest is 7 and still has her baby moments... however around when they go to school, the baby, clingy behavior cuts off dramatically. Even at 2 they are very babish. At three they still have alot of those baby moments.

I raised three boys. I'd say around 11 months. 'Cause by then they were off the bottle, and walking around. And potty training was done by their first birthday.
