I love this question...a common question of existence. You are searching...you will find. Here is the real answer. In the Bible the book of John 18:38, Pontius Pilate asked Jesus the same question "What is truth?" The bible is explicit about the definition of truth. You....have a responsibility......to believe. John 14:6 NIV • Read this chapter if you get the chance. 'Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' Be Blessed

Truth is something that is true for all people all the time. Examples:
2+2=4 is always true, but not all mathematics are (1/3+1/3+1/3 does not equal 1 if you convert it to a decimal).

"Cogito, ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am) would be true for any person who thinks.

Most everything else is up in the air. How can you know anything else is real?

The 2nd law of thermodynamics says that time moves in the direction of increased entropy (disorder), so based on that, it's unlikely for this reality to exist. It's just as likely that we just popped into existence at this moment, complete with a package of memories and history.

It seems crazy, but so is the chance of our existance. In a universe that's infinite, anything can happen.

Truth is something defined by a collective agreement. It is actual state of a matter.

Dear Sir/Madam,
"Truth", in its philosophical turn, means itself, something you can't find Cos' it is not a humans' idea or a comment, something or some "existance", you wouldn't see, touch or draw (only fantasial imaginations, abstractions in its nature), but who knows the truth nature? I tell you (absolutely) no one, thousands of years, mankind's seeked a fair answer to this question, it's like hole of darkness where thinking, wisdom couldn't simply progress.
However, there's more to say. Scientific, humanistic, cultural, emotional, religious truths are easier common ones to discuss. There are, indeed, various areas of "truth". For exampel, "God" is not a physical truth, but a religious/spiritual one, thus you can't ask a question about the concept based modern physical principals.

"Truth" like the word, "love" are two words that are nearly impossible to define.

Something is either true or false.
You can tell the truth or you can lie.
The truth is that lemons are yellow.

This list could go on and on.

Read all about in Wikipedia and you will really be confused about how to define " truth."

The way the life is regardless of what is being thought about it... Imagine that there is a stone in front of you, and you say and believe and imagine that "God created it..." Hundreds of years ago it was believed that it was created by something else... But still, there would be a stone sitting in front of you.. That is the truth...
