Hello. U may visit Shimla,on of the most beautiful Hill stations of India. Its a lovely place. Explore the nature's beauty, roam around Lakkar bazaar, lower bazaar, Jakhu Temple to experience the real chill because its quite high. And yes, don't forget to visit other places in Himachal Pradesh like Kullu-Manali, Mandi and lots more. Other than HP, Dehradun and Mussori in Uttranchal r also worth visiting.

U have a lot of variety - if u wanna go to cold places, u can choose srinagar / leh.
Avoid Rajasthan or Delhi in summer - its too hot.
U may love Assam if u like forests.
Or since u asked places north of Andhra and Karnataka - a very common destination is Goa - Half of the travellers go to Goa.

The best places are Delhouse,Kullu,Manali and Simla . The second alternative is Darjeeling,Pachmadi ,Nainital and Mount Abu .For obvious reasons i have omitted Jammu and Kashmir and Lay.

Come to Delhi, Take a Bus/Cab to Manali. its a 12 Hr. Jrny from Delhi. you can really enjoy your sumers in the lap of nature & high lands of Himalayas.
& if you love traking, paragliding, river rafting, with camping will be added adventure to your vacations.

If you are taking a car than you can go to Srinagar . Don't forget to visit hot spots in between .
You may also like to go towards the west ,that is, RAJASTHAN.Udaipur and Jaipur are really good places to visit.
