personally i think gears of war is the best online game out there pieriod... at the end of november it was already the most online played game out on xbox live... now there is over 800,000 people playing online now... it surpassed halo 2 in that category... i think it is better then the halo franchise... i think bungie has a real competetor now in gears... epic games has made a real masterpiece here... it is visually the most beautiful game i have ever seen... the story in the begining is a lil lackluster but dureing game play it picks up and just draws u in it... oh yea not to mention that the gameplay is outstanding... the all in one button system i think is perfect... it is a blend between an arcade shooter like halo, and a tatical shooter like rainbow six... in all you cant deny its greatness i think...

There's a lot of debate over Gears online at the moment. With the new patch there is a lot of complaints that it is lagging more, and is a lot more tempremental nowadays. Another debate is wether or not it's a console killer, as in the PS3. In a large way, it made the Xbox 360 and is without doubt the best release for Microsoft yet. And now with the upcoming Halo 3, there is the debate of Marcus Vs Master Chief, who will win the online wars? With Gears simple layout and innovative cover system, i believe that it will win by a mile and a few yards online, as the popularity of the game online at the moment shows it to be the most played 360 game at the moment, and this is likely to continue for a long time, as long as the patch is fixed, and Cliffy keeps releasing maps in the marketplace.

ok ok ok im a halo fanatic but i have to say gow is better than halo 2 im sure it wont be as good as halo 3 but its still an awesome game. halo 2 was the most played online game since november 2004 so i have my doubts that gow will still be on top when halo 3 comes out. also i read that the creator of gow wants gow to continue and become a graphic novel and a movie i hav my doubts about the movie the story is kindof lacking fineness and like doom a movie would probably lower its popularity seeing as most game movies suck. as for bungie having compition bungie are still pretty small the only game they really got recognised for was halo there other games like marathon and myth never piked up we sould not fight each other we should fight the evil of nintendo as for the button system i love it and the game does suck you in so much so i found myself playing till 6am its a great game and it definatly deserved game of the year

Rainbow Six Vegas is way better then Gears of War for online play. The weapons in GoW suck. You get one decent sniper rifle, one decent assault rifle, and a rocket launcher...all the other weapons are garbage. I think the cover to fire system in GoW is good, but blows compared to that on RSV. How can you say GoW will beat halo 3...no one knows anything about what will happen with Halo 3.
