It depends on the woman. It can start anytime after 40. The symptoms are hot flashes, night sweats, irritability (some get more irritable than others) and trouble sleeping. A fan feels great at night. Your periods start to get irregular and maybe heavier at first. They slowly start to get further apart and lighter, until they completely stop, around the age of 50 or so, then the symptoms may get worse for a while on some women. If your periods stop for a whole year, then that means they won't come back. You may want to consult a natural health professional so you can start taking what you need to help lower the the symptoms, make them less uncomfortable and help you avoid problems such as osteoporosis later on in life. A healthy diet and daily exercise, like brisk walking, becomes necessary to maintain energy, better health and to help prevent loss of libido. Menopause will last many years, so you want to prepare yourself for it.

Menopause usually starts after the age of 40. But the age can vary widely among women.
The classic signs are irregular periods, hot flashes, and trouble sleeping. Perimenopause, the part that has those symptoms usually lasts a few months to a year or two, again, it varies, after which your hormones should level back out.

i began out the menopause while i grow to be 40 3, i'm now fifty one and have been positioned up menopausal for 3 years now I take clonidine 25mg for the nice and cozy flushes as regrettably they are no longer getting any further advantageous and that i could no longer take HRT as my mom died from breast maximum cancers, clonidine is used for people who go through with severe migraines yet docs are actually utilising it for menopausal females who go through with warm flushes, I swear by way of it, mine have cut back down notably considering i began out taking it 8 months in the past and the alleviation of been in a position to have a ideal nights sleep is superb, to me clonidine is the main suitable component considering sliced bread and that i might advise it to everybody.

it can start from your 40s to your 60s, it takes months to years for the change to be complete and once you are all the way there, its going to last the rest of your life. hot flashes , irritable, periods less than they were, and sometimes they will skip a month or two and come back for a while,
