Please explain how to divide and multiply fractions. I really need this advice. In example 3/4 x 6/8 and 4/5 divided by 3/8. Please help me.

It's very simple. what you need to do is, do it the mathematical way.
one step at a time.......

for multiplication,

3/4 x 6/8

try to identify if the numerator and denominator can be divide with a same number - just to simplify it, this will make the calculation easier

for example,

4 and 6 can be divided 2, they might be from a different fraction, but the point is, one has to be the numerator while the other has to be the denominator.

now you have.....

3/2 x 3/8....

we cant do the same with 3 and 8 because they do not have a common number that can divide them without balance.

Now just do the normal multiplication process...... one at a time but simultaneously - which in the form of fraction.

3 x 3 = 9

2 x 8 = 16

so your answer is 9/16.

so simple, isn't it

for the division, its the same but you have to inverse the later..

so the order goes like this,

4/5 x 8/3

Remember, in division, when you inverse the later, you also have to change the arithmetic symbol from (/) to (x)...

this means when you had inversed the division fraction, you will use multiplication method to solve it.

so the same process repeats...

in this one, there is no common divided in either numerator and denominator. so just go on multiplying.

4 x 8 = 32

5 x 3 = 15

when you do fraction, you must leave you answers in the lowest possible value. This mean they should not have a common number to divide them.

another rule is, the numerator must not be larger than the denominator.

let say, like the second one , the numerator is larger than the denominator...
so you have to divide the numerator with the denominator.

so your finall answer will be

32 / 15 = 2 2/15

the first number 2 in the answer is an integer, while 2/15 is a fraction.

if u want to multiply fraction simple multiply numerator and denominator seprately as in 3/4 x 6/8
so 3 x 4= 12
and 4x8=32
so the ans is 12/32
while dividing multiply the former to the invers of later
ie 4/5 divided by 3/8
can be written as 4/5 x 8/3

just multiply the top numbers together and then the bott numbers

for division do the same but turn the second part upside down

so for eg 3/4 Div by 5/6

becomes 3x6 over 4x5
which equals18/20
which equals 9/10
