He was using the blood samples of males (only) to locate DNA markers to prove that the African nomads had probably crossed the land mass from China and ended up in Arizona/New Mexico. Several(?) Navajo's DNA markers matched the males in the original village sampled. There was a special tv program relative to his study. Does anyone remember the DRs name or the tv special title? PBS or Discovery? Really appreciate any help here. Thanx

How about Spencer Wells in the National Geographic documentary The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey?

If that isn't it though, it might be tough = lots of researchers use Y chromosome and mitochondrial DNA to map the origins of various human populations.
