That's a crock. I've seen women do it aplenty.
I'm really tired of the whole "we're nicer, gentler, more understanding" women lies that go on and on. It isn't true. And it's arrogant trying to pretend that women have no flaws.
Edit: And lady26 just proves my point by her by her mouth and attitude.

Basically, because of long ago, men were the superior sex and man will always pick on something or someone smaller and weaker than themselves for whatever reason. Most of this was done probably to bolster their macho ego so it continues today. usually called "bullying", it comes in many different ways such as in schools growing up to our parks to adult life where some guys with deflated egos have to harass someone to make them feel bigger and like a real man. Little do they know that it actually has the reverse effect. Now only if our prisons would open up to allow these macho men the opportunity to really prove themselves as to just how big they really are, there would probably be much less domestic violence. But it is a law of nature that the strongest always survive at the expense of the weak. But of course theres always some women out here that no man would ever think of harassing too. Happy Holidays

Apparently you're around a lot of jerks. Not all men are like that. Just like all women aren't ling and screwing around. Look, the men that are harassing you are probably jealous because you do better then them. I've found that most times when people start harassing others is because there's something " you " have to offer that " they " can't. This is just 1 of many scenario es that could be going on right now. I need to have more information about what exactly is going on.

Well part of the problem is that people continue to view jobs as "Men's jobs" and "women's jobs."
There are no such things. There is nothing that I can do that a man can't do (except give birth.) and there's nothing a man can't do that *I* can't do (except get an erection!)
When people stop thinking of jobs as having genders, then the harassment will stop.
Until then, the reason people get harassed is because people feel threatened by having a different gender in the position.
For example, a male firefighter may harass a female firefighter because he feels that he looks like LESS of a man because this woman is doing "his" job.

There are not enough jobs for everybody.
Several decades ago. Women did not work.
Everything changed in the 60s with the pill and we now have female CEOs.
I suggest you to take Martial Arts lessons.
If someone harass you then you fight him on the street at night with a mask.
Just don't kill anybody.

That's a very nasty generalization my dear,If anything it's usually quite the contrary. My experience would dictate that females are usually encouraged and supported to succeed in a position that is typically a male dominated profession.Of course like anything else in life you are going to get your bad eggs,But they are in the minority.Do not let stories disillusion yourself in pursuing whatever dream you may have,Women can succeed in any profession they apply themselves in.It is not 1954,Schoolyard mentality is not tolerated in the workplace.

I hope you are not categorizing all flirting as harassment. I enjoy a little harmless flirting once in a while. I try not to be an idiot about it.
True harassment should not be allowed. If I flirt you should be flattered. If I harass I should be fired.

Many men don't like their stereotypes about women and traditions being challenged. If women can earn their own money they may not need men as much as they used to. This threatens some men's traditional role as "provider".
