Anyway, movies are generally released on Fridays because counting the weekend box office (how much money each movie made) is important to the studios. Studios are in competition with each other over their movies: which one is #1, which one made the most money, etc.

Its becoz of the weekend one is really free on weekends and can take time out to go and watch a movie. as it is by monday through word of mouth everyone knows if the movie is good or bad, so to cash in on the weekend they release it on fridays
