IT DEPENDS HOW YOU SCORED ON THE NCLEX AS TO WHETHER YOUR LICENSE WILL BE VALID IN OTHER STATES OR COUNTRIES. I KNOW ILLINOIS IS GOOD JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE, BEST TO CHECK WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF REGULATIONS IN WHATEVER STATE OR COUNTRY YOU WANT TO PRACTICE IN

I think you have to take the local licensure exam and follow the same process in getting the CGFNS and NCLEX. Just inquire from the schools.

Yes it really matters what school you get enrolled. There are a lot of new Nursing schools opening in the Philippines and some are substandard. Ask for their passing rate for the past 5 years.

Here in Cagayan de Oro City which is an 1 1/2 hour away from Iligan City, we have 3 good nursing schools namely : Xavier University, Capitol University and Liceo de Cagayan University.

Xavier University is a bit new to the nursing field but is fast becoming the best in Cagayan de Oro. Its first graduates since the college reopened in 2002 had a 100% passing rate. Xavier is also the biggest university in the region.

Liceo and Capitol University has been producing top nurses for the past decades. These schools are basically known for their nursing courses. Capitol University operates its own hospital.

No need for you to take the local boards unless you want to practice in the Philippines. And since you are a US citizen, you just need to write and pass the NCLEX. The nursing school you will choose to attend won't matter. Goodluck

I know I have a classmate in High School, she's an American Citizen and went to study Nursing in the Philippines. I know a personal friend, he is Canadian and went to study Nursing in the Philippines too. Boy! I don't know why everybody goes to the Philippines for the Nursing Program. I think I should do the same.
