OK, OK, calm down. A scientific principle is what explains a hypothesis or disproves it through scientific experiments. When you start a experiment, you have a hypothesis to prove or disprove. In this case, you are interested to know what are the effects of a hair dye (which is a chemical or a mixture of various chemicals) on hair. You need to measure some parameters like color (obvious), strength (does the hair gain or lose strength), flexibility (if you try to bend it, does it break?), its thickness etc.

So, start with a hypothesis and make the experiments on a few strands of hair, preferabaly separate (not on the head) and compare how the dyed strands compare with the strands that are not dyed. The average values will be useful in proving or disproving the theory.

The scientific principles are those of a fair test. You must control every variable except one, so that you can be sure that the variable that you are altering (concentration of hair dye, or colour of hair dye, or tem[perature of hair dye - I'm not familiar with this experiment) is really the thing that affects the outcome.
