what can be done to improve india and indian economy??

please tell me what can be done at individual level to improve india.. and also what u do to improve indian economy ??
e.g I use the product manufactured by only by India.. (no foriegn good). due to this money will go to indian pocket not to any foriegn based company...

I drink only fruit juice instead of coke and thumps up.
and i will also like to mention some point ......
like we can go trees ....it won't boost to our economy....
but it will help us to reduce pollution (in big cities)

Getting rid of your protectionist mentality would be a good start.

India had a closed economy for decades, while other Asian economies opened their markets. India is only now getting out of its entrenched poverty because somebody has finally understand the notion of comparative advantage.

A foreign firm will only sell in India if it knows its goods are cheaper or better to what is produced local. So the Indian consumer suffers if he is compelled to buy the more expensive or inferior local brand.

Indians have many talents, and India has much to sell to the world. It would be irresponsible for me to spend money on a local IT system if the Indians can produce a cheaper or better version.

So, how could you - individually - help India?

(a) study and work hard
(b) have children
(c) pay your taxes
