Could you please explain what procedures you went through, like what paperwork you need to complete and have, and how you actually managed to move all your things over there? Also, around abouts how much did it cost?

It is not so easy to just move (immigrate) to the USA.
You will (at the very least) need a green card to work.
There are many stipulations on acquiring one of these.

If you plan on moving a whole house of items (electricals are useless) then it is best to ship it in a container.
