Ok so I heard that what to us is Myth has now become a religion.
Some people in greece got together and made the belief in greek gods and goddess a religion. So do you think that is plain stupid? Do you belive in the greek gods? Whats your opinion on it?

lol - you can't be serious? Greek mythology came from greece as a religion ages ago. It is not surprising that there are people who carry on the tradition - though I think the faithful of those ways has dwindled quite a bit.

I love the Greek and Roman god mythologies - but really, I think all religions are trying to interpret the same Universal Truth and I haven't heard any that actually have it spot on with my personal beliefs.

It's interesting - I have heard folks say that gods are only strong and vibrant while they have belief to sustain them. It's nice to think that Hera and Minerva and all the old ones (greek and roman alike) still exist on earth in some form.

Peace!

u should know that every religion becams a myth after a certai period of time
at a certain moment in greek history the mythology as we know it now it was the real religion of the people
probably even cristianism will become a myth in the next 2 or 3 thousand years
man is free to believe in anything he wants
and if someone chooses to believe in the greek gods and godess
thats good for him but heor she should know all the greek story and all the greek gods
my personal opinia is that believing in greek myths is either a way of attracting attention or a regression because greek used to explain everithing they could not understand bysaying a story about a god
as a example look at the story narcissus and u^ll see what i mean
a religion it should be about truth, love and respect and not about attracting attention or being the most bizar

It was a religion a little over 2000 years ago. The so called "myths" are stories of the Gods and Goddesses from that time. They were labeled as "myths" because some "religious" people didn't want others believing that it was once a respected religion.

It is not new, but a revival of what was once before. It is not "becoming" a religion, it once was and now is again.

Not "make believe". Obviously you need to do some research.

This Greek religion was long there before Christianity.
And yes there are Greek Gods and Godesses. They have always been there. It's just that as the world advanced further, as christianity and islam spreaded further, the Greek religion lost it's place and i am glad it's back.
The Greek's should have faith in their own religion and beliefs not of other religions and beliefs.

the variation between mythology and faith is skinny and almost non-existent. Mythology grew to become into faith yet isn't viewed actual or isn't broadly believed in. faith relies upon on the worshipers, as does any god or goddess. And no, Hercules isn't the such as Christ, he grew to become right into a hero and are very elementary in Greek mythology, extra so than prophets. there's no such as Christ for Greeks, and there have been many demigods who had an Olympian verify.

all myths come form some form of Truth there is more evidence in Greek mythology then there is in the Koran or the bible anyone who believes something is stupid is either ignorant or biased until fact is proven, but ask your self this question is there a god and what hard evidence has god shown the world has god ever reveled himself or has the world been taken by a hokes unfortunately no one can answer this question with out being biased to his or her beliefs the answer is what people choose to have faith in, whether that faith is justified with evidence and hard proof or is justified with a core belief that is as real to them as something completely tangible.

No, it's not stupid.

It's no more stupid than modern day Druids still worshipping at Stongehenge or Asatru followers who believe in Odin.

Belief in a God (or Gods) is what religion is all about. It's no different than if a bunch of people turned their belief in an ancient Jewish Rabbi and Teacher into a relig.....oh wait, that's EXACTLY what the Christians did...

Stupid? I wouldn't choose that word. If you were in their time, without knowledge of how thunder is made, how the rain comes & why the sun shines more at summer, you would have believe that there are gods & goddess for it. Yet now in modern world, we now know the truth, worshiping these gods and goddess seems unwise, yet that what makes the identity of the Greeks.

you mean a religion that became a myth that is now a religion again. remember it WAS a religion for a long time.

anyway, no, i dont think its stupid, at least not any more stupid than a single god creating the world and everything in it in 6 days; or any other creation myth for that matter..

i dont "believe" in any god or gods, nor do i believe they do not exist. i believe no one has the answer to that question.

lol just have to say this tho: "All of this has happend before, and all of this will happen again."
