Human's rise above natural savagery. We rose above cannibalism. We rose above human sacrifice. And, we rose above slavery. We rise. We have much to learn, yet. We are young. A big part of our species' existence is "learning". The most natural way that we learn is through our mistakes. Trial and error is natural and ethical. Therefore, error is ethical. We can only continue to learn more about Nature's ways and to rise toward greater and greater health and wisdom. That is our sincere and ethical course.

Making mistakes is what humans do--hopefully, we learn from them, and don't repeat them.
As for the government, they seem to keep making the same mistakes over and over. Check out American History--I think you'll see what I mean.
