I have my naval piereced and I'm 3 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if I should take it out and what the scarring would be like or if it's possible to keep it in and will stay looking ok even as my belly gets bigger?...

I waited until I was 20 weeks pregnant to take mime out. They make you take it out anyways atleast while they do your ultrasound. So I just left mine out. It can cause stretching of your hole if you leave it in the whole pregnancy.

For comfort's sake, I would take it out in a few weeks when you start showing. Enjoy it now. I am almost 35 weeks and my piercing site looks terrible. It's not infected, but the skin is really stretched and red. I don't even think it would be possible to get a ring in there right now! My piercing was barely noticeable before when I didn't have a ring in, but now my belly button has flattened out and the site is very prominent above my belly button.

Also if I had one in now it would get caught on everything. I bump my belly all the time and I would have probably already have ripped it out! Yuck! I hope it looks better after my stomach goes down! I'm kinda sad I had it pierced because my belly is really pretty, no stretch marks and it's really round, but that stupid spot ruins it!

Your still early so u can keep it in for now but when your stomache starts to streych you might want to take it out. I still have my belly piercing in and I am 4 months pregnant now and it still looks the same but at the rate my stomache is growing by the end of my 5 month or by my 6 month into this pregnacy I might of to take it out or get one of those retainer belly rings u can get to put in. Some people leave theirs in through their whole pregnancy.

You can leave it in as long as it is comfortable to you. I asked my doctor the same question at my last appointment. I'm 13 weeks and I still have mine in.
There is also pregnancy navel rings. You can search online for them. Also, depending on how long you've had the piercing, if it starts to get really uncomfortable, you can thread a piece of yarn through the hole. That way, the hole will remain open but you wont have the jewelry bothering you.

At approximately 8wks pregnant I went to the piercers & asked for a flexi bar to swap my abdomen ring. this is like thick fishing line (concerning a similar diameter because of the fact the tummy ring) and the guy positioned one greater long piece in for me ~ for the 1st 20 weeks of my being pregnant the bar caught out the surprising of my piercing like some sort of alien antenna!! Now, at 32 weeks i've got nevertheless have been given a large number of the bar to pass formerly it will be stretched to this is shrink. i'm going to save monitoring it yet i think of it could be wonderful for something of my being pregnant & whilst i'm performed i'm going to get my ring positioned back in. i've got not got any marks as my epidermis has been allowed to stretch as general using there being no regulations from a hoop.

i took mine off after 8 weeks pregnant. I recommend you take it off because your belly gets so big the skin stretches out it'll be very uncomfortable wearing it. Of course the hole is still gonna be there for when you want to put it back on. You'll know when to take it off when it becomes very uncomfortable for you.

I took mine out and I still ended up with odd stretch marks around the piercing. I tried to put it back in at one point, but my stomach was so big that it was going to make the marks bigger and tear the hole. I didn't take my ring out until I started getting bigger.

I was able to put it back in after I had my baby just fine (it didn't close up).

you never have to take it out if you don't want to (unless you have a c-section then you may be required to remove it during surgery)

I'm 40 weeks and still have mine in :)

flexi bars (sometimes called pregnancy navel rings) or rings tend to be more comfortable than barbells once you get bigger

taking it out or leaving it in have nothing to do with stretch marks, the original scar tissue from the piercing will tend to stretch less than the rest of your skin whether the ring is in or not.

I would take it out. Its not going to look pretty as you get bigger. When its time to deliver your belly button pops like a timer and the folds of your button will come out. Its not going to be comfortable.Maybe wise to ask your doctor to check for infection and removal of ring. Its up to you.

you can get some lovely belly bars for pregnant women now, they are like plastic that is flexible
my cousin had loads of them, although she took hers out when the baby was really active because she found it uncomfortable,
leave it in till you feel you need to remove it.
